Infohumanism or infotranshumanism is a concept which promotes the usage of communication, thought and knowledge as an asset for humanity's development and evolution.

Rather than focusing upon mechanical or electronic advances in technology and science, Infohumanists see the development of science and technology which affect the distribution of information between individuals as a means of enhancement for human development, one that eases conflict between individuals and groups if there is an equal or equitable increase of information being distributed.

Differences from transhumanismEdit

It is a branch of transhumanism which is more specific to information technology and communication science, and does not focus as much on issues which have been historically espoused by most transhumanists and extropians, such as life extension and bodily enhancement.
